At Penniman & O'Brien, we specialize in helping the anxious as well as the nimble in an informal, nurturing atmosphere. Our offices are stocked with learning aids such as manipulatives for learning arithmetic, graphing calculators, and the Geometer's Sketchpad.

Here's who we are:

Paul Penniman, Erin O'Brien, and Jason Pirrello provide mathematics tutoring for ages 10-infinity at their offices at 3522 Davenport St., N.W., Washington D.C. Erin specializes in algebra and geometry; Paul also does physics, statistics and calculus; and Jason can also do calculus.

Dan Lozier has been with us since 2000. Known to Paul since 1986, Dan can tutor any high school math course.

Frank Rettenberg joined us in 2002 after having tutored privately for over ten years. Frank can also tutor any of the high school math courses.

Robert Aspden and Helen Chow joined us in 2005 as math tutors. Rob and Helen can tutor any subject through calculus.

Dr. Gulden Akinci joined us in 2006. Dr. Akinci has a Ph.D. in physics from the Univerisy of Rhode Island. She has written a book for SAT math prep.
